
Illinois Women’s Institute of Leadership’s Training Academy Class of 2020 – Lynn LaPlante
Lynn LaPlante is currently running for a seat on the DuPage County Board in the 2020 election and also for her third term as Precinct Committeeperson in Milton Township. Lynn is a committed community volunteer and activist, with a focus on gun violence prevention, equal rights for women and legislative solutions for the climate crisis. Lynn is also a professional orchestral violinist and violist. She is currently the Principal Violist with Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. Lynn lives in Glen Ellyn with her husband Michael and their four children.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2020 Candidate for DuPage County Board, Lynn LaPlante, has won a coveted spot in the Illinois Women’s Institute of Leadership’s Training Academy. IWIL trains Progressive and Democratic women to run for office at every level—local, state and federal. The trainings will take place in Chicago, Springfield, through the state and in Washington, DC. Lynn is the only woman from DuPage County selected this year– and the only woman from DuPage County in nearly a decade to be selected, after a rigorous and competitive application process.
